Plane face glasses and interference testing unit for checking flatness
Reflective surfaces are required for measuring the surface quality obtained. Lapped, matt surfaces are therefore polished on the polishing table in order to carry out the test. The flatness can be reliably tested using optical plane face glasses. Our plane face glasses are made of glass ceramics. This material maintains its flatness even when temperatures fluctuate greatly, and it is very scratch-resistant. Plane face glasses are used in conjunction with an interference testing unit. The monochromatic light produced by a sodium vapour lamp has a wavelength of exactly 0.0006 mm (0.6 μm). Since only half the wavelength is used for the measurement, the measuring accuracy is 0.3 μm.
